INTERNAL affairs will be the focus for the York City Knights tomorrow - regardless of what is going on at Dewsbury.

Head coach Richard Agar says there is still plenty to play for on the final day of the regular LHF Healthplan National League Two season, even ignoring the ramifications of leaders Barrow Raiders slipping up at Dewsbury Rams at the same time.

A win at Chorley Lynx (3pm kick-off) would act as an ideal springboard to the play-offs and give his players the chance to earn a place for the games coming up. It would also seal automatic promotion to National League One if Barrow lose or draw.

But Agar insists that the focus will be on the match at Chorley - and nowhere else.

He said: "I think there's lots to play for - including to keep their places in the squad for the play-offs. I don't think there's any players that would prompt the scenario in his head.

"We have not spoken one bit about what might happen. Everyone else is talking about it - but we are only talking about ourselves.

"Whatever happens, we are in the play-offs and we are going to Halifax, which in itself is a big day."

Agar is also confident his players will not be tempted to take their feet off the pedal.

"The issue of taking it easy is just not an issue," he said. "They are professional players and they want to win. Even when we go back to the Arriva Trains Cup or to friendlies, they always wanted to win."

And there will be no voice in the crowd supplying him with information from Rams Stadium, either.

He said: "I won't be bothered about finding out the score during the game.

"As a squad, we have not even spoken about it. We are concentrating on ourselves and we have not said a word about Barrow for weeks now.

"I suspect that we have lost one too many games so I'm really not particularly bothered about how things are going elsewhere. If it goes our way then fantastic.

"But we can only take care of ourselves. We have got to keep focused on what we are doing. We are not anticipating results to go our way, but we also want to go into the play-offs on the back of a win."

Austin Buchanan has finally shaken off the after-effects of a sickness bug to return to the 17, and Darren Callaghan has responded well to treatment for an ankle injury and is another likely inclusion.

Craig Forsyth, however, pulled a hamstring in training on Tuesday and will miss the game, while Craig Farrell will undergo a late check today following a slight knee injury.
