Super League side Hull FC today announced that York City Knights head coach Richard Agar will be their new assistant coach as of next season.
The young coach has made a big impression since taking over at the Knights at the beginning of this season, and will now take his place at new coach John Kear's side from the start of the 2005 season.
He will be hoping to sign off from the Knights with promotion to National League One.
Two weeks on Sunday they will visit Halifax, who finished second bottom of League One, in a straight match for a ticket to the grand final.
If they lose, they will play either Sheffield, Swinton, Workington or Hunslet for a second chance to reach the October 10 final at Widnes' Halton Stadium, where the winner will take all.
The Knights' preparation for the play-offs took a knock at Chorley yesterday after a dramatic last gasp defeat.
