I COULDN'T agree more with Janet Kitchen's letter regarding the shuffling of Radio York's presenters, particularly that station's jewel in the crown, Jonathan Cowap (September 10).

Like Janet, I tune into Radio York when I'm in the car because that is the only radio through which I can get a clear signal here in Sheffield! However, I used to be able to get a weak signal in my office and I always used to listen to Jonathan Cowap's show believing that the listeners' comments on matters affecting mainly local issues gave me a sense of being in York itself.

Alas, when the powers-that-be decided to push Mr Cowap into a lunch time slot, for a number of reasons I couldn't listen and so stopped listening regularly from then on, much to my dismay.

Now I read that Jonathan's show is to be moved to a drive time slot. This is a definite wrong turn. Along with Janet, I say let's have Jonathan back where he belongs at nine in the morning (and please hurry and go digital so people like myself can listen in clear crystal stereo from the comfort of my office).
