Osbaldwick made certain of the runners-up slot in division one when they beat relegated Ripon by ten wickets.

This puts them 21 points ahead of a Carlton Towers side who are awaiting the outcome of their appeal against the abandonment of their match against Hull Zingari.

However, even if they are awarded the game, the resulting extra points will not be enough to lift them above Osbaldwick, whose match-winners were skipper Steve Jackson (83no) and overseas star Glen Jones (122no), who overhauled Ripon's 212-6 without loss in only 38 overs.

Ripon's Paul Reynolds made 61 and Chris Warters 65, while Osbaldwick's Sean White took 4-67.

Pocklington ended their disappointing season on a high note when they won by one wicket at Tadcaster Magnet.

Chris Malthouse made 68 as Magnet moved to 181-9. Kevin Hinch took 4-45 in an impressive 20 overs.

In reply Neil Jackson made 53, and Ted Donkin an unbeaten 38 to see Pocklington home at 184-9.
