DESPITE living on the South Coast I am shocked to read Terry's chocolate firm is dumping York and its workforce and skipping out to Poland or thereabouts.

How disloyal can a company get?

I am all for British goods and local produce and have always bought our chocolate before that of others, Terry's being a firm favourite.

I shall never eat another Terry's product again and I am letting my family and friends know I want no more Terry's gifts.

It is so wrong to dump British workers and I say so loud and clear!

I am a pensioner so my opinions cut no ice in a boardroom. But I have "been there" for my family for many years and lived through their various redundancies and know the shame and how much it hurts in all sorts of ways.

I hope the sacked workers find other jobs soon.

...MY wife and I were shopping and on offer was a product from Terry's of York. "Oh lovely," said the wife, "I'll get two boxes."

"No you won't," I told her.

"Why?" she asked.

So I reminded her of the news that Kraft is closing the York plant for no good reason.

We have decided not to buy any Terry's or other Kraft products.

Maybe readers of the Press should follow suit and support the Terry's workers by boycotting Kraft products to let the firm know how people feel about corporate bodies destroying people's lives on a whim.

Perhaps the Press could run a boycott Kraft campaign?
