BEING a football fan, I was incensed at the England players' stance after the 2-1 win over Poland in last week's World Cup qualifier.

The so-called silence was their way of getting back at the media. What a bunch of pompous, over-paid prats they have made themselves look.

The biggest loser in this demonstration is Dame Davina Beckham, the same man who courts media attention from morning till night.

We all remember the god-like stance he took when he scored the equaliser against Greece the other year to book our place in the World Cup. That image was flashed around the world by the media.

Have a look at every goal England have scored since that match and the one person who is at the forefront of every celebration adopting the same stance is none other than Dame Beckham.

Regardless of who scores, he is there, chest puffed out, arms and legs akimbo, milking the applause.

If Dame Beckham had played the game of his life and scored both England goals against Poland, do you think there would have been a silent protest?

I think not, he would have put on his wife's favourite pants, chose a nice skirt like the sarong pictured right, applied his make up and pontificated about how good he was.

It's high time Dame Beckham and his cry babies realised who put them where they are today and wearing the white shirt of England is for the nation and not for looking good in.
