LOCAL food and dishes with a strong regional provenance have featured in this year's York Festival Of Food And Drink reflecting a growing interest in fresh, local seasonal food as an alternative to that bought at supermarkets.
You can find some unique flavours in local food products and, by choosing these in preference to food that has been transported a great distance, you will be helping the planet because transport pollution will be reduced.
More jobs could be created in our region with an expanding local food economy.
We wish to help interested people find local food products. A monthly farmers' market is held at Murton but no food directory centre on York exists. If you are a local food grower or producer living within 20 miles of York, contact us so we can pass on your details to interested people. Ring me on 01653 696748.
