Selby RUFC produced a dynamic late surge to crush Wheatley Hills 41-19 in their Yorkshire One encounter at Sandhill Lane.
They were trailing 12-10 with the hour mark approaching with the strong visiting pack encamped in the Selby ten-metre area.
Then Selby full-back Chris McDonald broke free to set up the first of five tries - three from centre Shaun Austerfield - in an amazing ten-minute spell.
Matthew Smith scored a first half try, converted by Dan Porter, who also kicked a penalty to give Selby a 10-7 interval lead.
Then Wheatley flanker Terry Beedham scored a try to add to the one scored by Paul Clayton in the first-half and although Mark Hardcastle missed with his conversion attempt this time, Selby had lost the lead.
Then McDonald set up the counter attack for Austerfield to score, Porter kicking the conversion into the wind.
Wheatley were visibly tiring and Selby went ahead with great back play from Paul Scott, Andy Gabel and Porter as Austerfield grabbed his second touchdown.
Four minutes later Jason Cicero and Wright Phillips combined to send in Gabel. Porter converted then crossed for a converted try himself to make it 36-12.
Straight from the kick-off winger Simon Hall made ground down the line before releasing Austerfield for his hat-trick score - his second treble in the space of three weeks.
Paul Purnell scored a consolation for Wheatley in injury time with Ashley Hanson adding on the extras, but that could not detract from an amazing Selby performance.
