NEW Earswick All Blacks stayed in touch with the Pennine League division two leaders by hammering lowly Elland 'A' 46-0.

All Blacks dominated their hosts, coping better in the torrid conditions to run in nine tries.

Captain Jez Petch sent winger Shaun Bewlay over for the opener, Carl Pallister booting the first of his five conversions from the touchline, before hooker Mark Tipping went from acting-half to get the second.

Jamie Rhodes burst clear for an individual try and on half-time loose-forward Chris Judge re-gathered his own kick to cross in the corner.

The second half continued in similar vein as Tipping got his second, centre Dan Wellard sent Andy Fletcher in, Pallister dummied over and Jim Mulroney also crossed.

In-form Judge, who pipped full-back Paul Dooley to man of the match, then kicked through for scrum-half Ben Jones to race from half-way and round things off.

York Groves completed another high scoring victory in Pennine League division five, 50-32 against Keighley Albion.

Groves led 28-4 at the break with tries from Dean Kilbride, Simon Moat, Paul Marshall, Chris Thompson and John Rushworth, with Albion replying with an unconverted try just before the interval.

The Terriers, for whom Chris Smith excelled, scored the first try of the second half when Thompson re-gathered his own kick to touch down. But they then went to sleep allowing the big Albion pack to tear through for three converted tries.

The excellent Kilbride beat five would-be tacklers on a 60-metre run to the line to put the game out of the visitors' reach and, although Albion did add two more tries, Groves, too, weren't finished as the outstanding Paul Fairclough used his strength to reach over the whitewash, before creator Danny Buy turned scorer with a dummy and step to the line, Dunn adding his seventh goal.

York Acorn 'A' now have the only 100 per cent record in Pennine League division four after a 13-4 defeat of previously unbeaten Undercliffe.

Paul Sawyer and Ryan Calam scored Acorn's tries and Matty Embleton kicked three goals.

A gutsy Heworth 'A' lost 46-12 at unbeaten Oulton Raiders 'A' in Yorkshire League division three.

Gareth Kirby scored a try and goal to keep Heworth in it at 14-6 at the break but Oulton raced clear late on with the elements in their favour, Heworth's only other try coming from Nathan Witty, goaled by Gary Watkinson. Captain Sean Brough, Sean Strickland and Dave Varley impressed.
