THE comments on Derwenthorpe of Nigel Ingram, Joseph Rowntree Foundation spokesperson, leave a lot to be desired.
The learning curve he is on is obviously too steep. The vast majority of residents living around the proposed development will interpret his letter accordingly and perhaps "a lot to learn" would be an appropriate reply.
As for his appeal to the "affordable homes" electorate, maybe he should ask the city council's Liberal Democrat ruling party why they have jettisoned from their plans 300 affordable homes at New Lane, Huntington?
If the curve is proving too difficult Mr Ingram then, you are welcome to join us on the "straight" at any time.
Tom Hughes,
Meadlands Area Residents' Association, York.
