RYEDALE legend Jimmy FitzGerald has run his last race.
In a colourful life, the man known throughout the racing industry as Jimmy Fitz trained an astonishing 1,200 winners on the flat and over the sticks.
His sporting status can be judged by the stars queuing up to pay tribute: Kieran Fallon, Pat Eddery, Sir Peter O'Sullevan.
The Malton trainer's greatest triumph came when Forgive'n'Forget won the Cheltenham Gold Cup in 1985.
Racegoers and jockeys will never forget Jimmy Fitz.
