DONKEYS were my favourite, reliable mode of transport during childhood so it was good to read the piece by Mike Laycock in the Press (September 23) on the competition-winning Scarborough donkeys.
They may look inscrutable, but donkeys sensibly keep their distance these days, eyeing me with dignified caution.
