Two defeats in five days may not be the best preparation for Tadcaster Albion's FA Vase first round proper bid to Silsden, but manager Jim Collis believes it will give them an edge to their game, rather than a relaxed attitude.

He said: "We know we have got a hard test on our hands but rather than going in off a couple of wins with a relaxed attitude, we will be going in with a different approach, a positive attitude that we can win it."

Influential midfielder Andy Battersby could be sidelined with a bruised thigh, but Sammy Farthing and Danny Gray, who came on and scored on his debut in Wednesday's 3-1 defeat, will both remain in the squad.

Selby travel to Northern League division two outfit Seaham Red Star in their third FA Vase foray of the season, and Pickering Town host NCEL premier division rivals Sheffield for their place in the second round proper.

Harrogate Railway centre half Paul Stephenson begins a remarkable 54-day suspension - roughly ten-12 games long - for a stamping offence in the FA Cup replay defeat at Esh Winning.

Damien Holmes will also be missing from the back-line due to work commitments but some relief for manager Martin Haresign is the return to fitness of Damien Henderson, who broke a bone in his hand several weeks ago.

Haresign says he has yet to decide whether or not he will draft in a new body or two to plug the emerging gaps in defence.

The Rail's return to form - five wins from six after four straight defeats at the start of the season - has come against several of the top sides in the division, and Haresign is wary of the banana-skin potential of lowly Borrowash Victoria.

He said: "I have always said that if you have win bonuses, they should be against the bottom teams because you are always up for the big ones. I have a knack of managing sides that do really well against good teams and slip up against the not-so-great ones so we will have to give them the same respect as the league leaders."

Goole manager Paul Marshall has put in a request to speak to Brodsworth Welfare hot-shot Paul Bradley after seeing him stroke two past his top-of-the-table team at the weekend.

The Vikings went on to win 4-2 but Bradley made a lasting impression on the manager and a seven-day request has been filed.

Steve Rollinson (ankle) and Lenny Curtis (hamstring) are both likely to miss tomorrow's Northern Counties East League premier division game at home to Glasshoughton Welfare, with Phil Walker promoted to the team.
