THE doctors credit conventional medicine. The patient puts it down to an intensive complementary treatment.

Both theories have merit. But we are inclined to believe that Chris Nelson's improved condition can be largely ascribed to her astonishing self-belief, reinforced by the fantastic support of family and friends.

Diagnosed with terminal cancer two years ago, Chris wasn't about to be beaten without a fight. She sought help from both mainstream and unorthodox cancer specialists. As a result Chris has taken an astonishing 200 tablets a day and follows a strict diet.

Her health regime has been made possible through the fund-raising efforts of colleagues at Nestl Rowntree. They have bought Chris more time - and brought hope to others in similar circumstances.
