I WRITE in response to the many Evening Press billboards in York highlighting the article "Open all hours" at Tanner Row Car Park (November 4).

Some of the information in the article was wrong and could be misleading to your readers and our customers.

I am delighted to confirm the car park is now open 24/7. Normal charges will apply during the extended opening hours as follows.

Up to one hour - £1.30; one-two hours £2.60; two to three hours - £3.90; three to four hours £5.50; five to six hours £8; six to nine hours £9.50; nine to 12 hours £11. All charges are inclusive of VAT.

For anyone attending a business meeting, evening class or club meeting, or enjoying an evening out in York, arriving at 7pm and leaving by 10pm, the charge is £3.90 including VAT.

The fee to park all night long, from any time after 5pm beyond 1am but leaving the next morning before 10am, is a flat rate fee of £5, and not £12 as stated in your article. The maximum charge in a full 24-hour period is £12.

The car park is clean, well lit and staffed, with CCTV monitoring.

There are spaces reserved for disabled badge holders and parents with small children.

Tanner Row Car Park enjoys secure car park award status, which means it is managed to an approved police specification. It is the only car park in York city centre with this award.

The 24-hour opening free parking offer will be repeated for a further one night only on Tuesday November 16, from 5pm until 1am.
