IN RESPONSE to Mr Hunt (Letters, November 25), I am a volunteer for Samaritans Purse. Last year I went to Novi Sad in Serbia to distribute shoeboxes.
I can assure Mr Hunt that the Muslims were not targeted and no Christian literature was distributed. The only Christian preaching I heard while I was there was in the Novi Sad Christian Centre.
Also I have been involved in sealing the shoeboxes and know that no religious literature or items are placed inside - on the contrary all religious items are removed.
As for the fact that Samaritans Purse only give aid at Christmas, this is totally incorrect. They are involved in many aid projects, such as water filters, child and family support, boxes of hope and after any natural disaster their aid teams are often among the first to arrive.
They do not hide the fact they are a Christian organisation.
