IS this the home of Father Christmas?
Local youngsters are convinced Santa is holed up in the semi-detached property, in Chudleigh Road, off Leeman Road, to prepare for his big day on December 24.
Rumours of his hiding place have spread like wildfire in the community, after the house was covered in hundreds of dazzling Christmas illuminations. A few youngsters even claim to have spoken to Santa in the street as he dished out sweets and chocolate.
Festive fanatics Michael and Sheila Taylor, who live in the house, were remaining tight-lipped today about whether they had the great man staying with them.
"We're not saying whether Santa lives here or not - we want to keep people guessing," Michael, 62, said.
The couple have put up the spectacular lights - which include Santa's reindeer on the roof - earlier than normal in an effort to raise money for Martin House Hospice for Children and Young People, at Boston Spa, near Tadcaster.
People who turn up at the house to see the illuminations - and try to catch a glimpse of Santa - are asked to put some money in one of the charity boxes provided. "We've built the lights up over the years," Michael said: "We like to make an effort for our grandchildren because it's great to see their little faces. We've always loved Christmas, and are very hopeful people will come and see the lights to raise money."
