Barely a day seems to go by at present without Ferdy Murphy saddling at least one winner and the Middleham trainer looks set to continue his purple patch at Catterick tomorrow.

Murphy, who sent out Mac's Supreme to score at Newcastle yesterday, saddles Family Venture in the Pepper Arden Handicap Chase and I fancy that Brian Harding's mount can score.

A useful horse at this level, Family Venture made a pleasing return to action at Ayr three weeks ago when finishing third to Strong Resolve, who has since won again at Wetherby.

The ground that day was softer than ideal for Family Venture, who prefers a sounder surface, which he looks like getting at Catterick. A bold bid is on the cards.

Reel Missile should go well in the Streetlam Novices' Hurdle.

A dual-winner in 'bumper' races, the five-year-old ran a sound race on his hurdling debut at Haydock recently to finish second to Investment Affair over two miles.

He was staying on to the finish that day, after making much of the running and tomorrow's extra three furlongs promises to suit him even better.

The Ashrigg Handicap Chase will not take a great deal of winning and Tiger Frog is napped to do the business for trainer John Mackie and jockey Warren Marston.

Better known as a hurdler, the five-year-old, a winner at Huntingdon at the end of August, finished fourth over two-and-a-half miles in his next race and has since been given a break to prepare for this switch to fences.

Successful on this course over hurdles, he makes plenty of appeal to make a winning reappearance, despite his lack of fencing experience.

With Southwell staging only a 'banded' meeting (confined to lowly-rated horses, running for £2,000 a go), the best of tomorrow's all-weather track action is at Wolverhampton, starting at 3.50pm.

The Malton partnership of Richard Fahey and Paul Hanagan have good prospects of figuring on the scoreboard with Wrenlane, a winner on the course a couple of weeks ago, who goes for the Bet Direct At Dunstall Park Classified Stakes.

Norton trainer Tim Etherington sends Hymn Of Victory to Wolverhampton to contest the Bet Direct Football Cashbacks Nursery and Tom Eaves' mount is not without a fighting chance on the best of his form.

Eddie Ahern, who rode three winners on the course yesterday, can add to his tally. Ahern, who recently rode his 100th winner of the year, is fancied to win on Davids Mark in the betdirect.co.uk Classified Stakes.

Although not the most straightforward of horses, John Jenkins' charge possesses the ability to win a race of this nature.
