THERE was ample Danny joy in the York FA Under-15s Minor Cup for Nestl Rowntree 'A'.

The Rowntree ranks pummelled Pocklington 10-1 with Danny Penrose poaching six goals.

Scott Nichols was also in fine scoring form with a four-goal haul for Fulford as they came back from a goal deficit to beat Real Cliffe 5-1.

Heworth's hero was Chris Thompson, whose hat-trick graced their 4-0 success over Barmby Moor. Matthew Fairclough also scored.

Strensall needed extra time to see off Rawcliffe in the York FA U14s Minor Cup. Strensall broke the deadlock with a Luke Vannaghan shot only for Rawcliffe to level a minute from the end of 90 minutes. Extra-time was barely two minutes in when Sam Edgar smashed in Strensall's winner.

An Ashley Newton hat-trick helped Pocklington power past Wigginton Grasshoppers 7-1.

The performance of the day was in the York FA Junior Minor Cup, where ten-man Poppleton toppled Haxby 'A' 3-2 after extra time. Callum Andrews bagged all three Poppleton goals.

Copmanthorpe eased past Ulleskelf 6-3 with Danny Cates (3), Gareth Fisher, Mike Florenceson and Anthony Chilton on target.

Brooklyn's hopes of a passage through the third round of the York FA Acaster Steel Cup were dashed in extra time against Bishopthorpe White Rose.

Matthew Reeves and Ryan Boyd fired Brooklyn ahead only for extra time to be secured via goals from Matthew Dale and Tom Richardson.

White Rose then went on the rampage as Dale again scored, supplemented by strikes from Daniel Owers, Liam Clark and Tommy Sanderson before a late reply from Ed Marwood.
