A PHONE call from Sierra Leone started it off. A former pupil of St Mary's Roman Catholic Primary School working out there with the United Nations began looking for an old primary school friend.

They left St. Mary's, as I did, in 1967 when we all went on to the Grammar School, County Modern and Norton Secondary School. Our paths parted, but now these paths are crossing again. During the past few years I have brought together more than 65 of those who started at Malton Grammar School in 1967.

My MGS1967 website, part of This is Ryedale CommuniGate, has now brought some pupils from St Mary's together too. With five of us in touch with each other across the globe, the idea of another website was soon born. The website St Mary's 1967 Leavers has been added to the This is Ryedale CommuniGate/Schools along with Education group, where my other sites are also located.

I hope anyone who left St Mary's Primary School in or about 1967 and is interested in picking up the trail and refreshing memories of primary school days will look into the site and get in touch.
