Every morning I notice up to a dozen parked cars blocking the cycle lanes outside the school on Heslington Lane, forcing cyclists into the main traffic flow at the busiest time of day.
Often there are even cars parked on the zig-zagged areas by the zebra crossing opposite the school.
Presumably these cars belong to parents doing the school run.
Do they not realise their thoughtless parking is putting cyclists and other parents and children using the zebra crossing at risk?
Only 50 yards or so further on there are side roads with just as much room to park. Walking the short extra distance would not only allow them to park without endangering others, the exercise would do them and their children good.
