I have seen several letters arguing against the proposed rising bollard for Straylands Road, including some from residents of that area.
I am not aware of any letters in support. Even though the straw poll carried out by City of York Council produced a poor response, and little support from local residents, it was approved by the planning committee.
Why? Who is driving this proposal forward? As council tax payers, we are supposed to be served by our councillors, not bullied by them.
The council should tell us why this is happening, regardless of widespread opposition.
M Bradley,
Postern Close, York.
