HAVING supported York City FC for over 40 years through good times and more bad times it is now embarrassing.

Being based in Devon for the last 13 years I have spent lots of time on motorways following the team.

Now I fear my only trip to see the team this year down the road at Exeter will end in another disappointment in February unless someone gets a grip.

I have started to watch Tiverton Town in the Southern Premier League and

although they are having a poor season they do actually score goals and have a forward who has scored 19 times this season so far.

I notice that several forwards who have struggled to net a goal with York go to other clubs and then score regularly so it must be the York style of play that makes them look inept.

New manager, new faces, new tactics, not neccessarily costly, must be introduced to stop the rot.

Do we need to book the supporters' minibus for the away trips to Harrogate,

Worksop, Hucknall and Alfreton next season yet?
