BRANDED! is the distinctive new name of York-based European trade mark attorneys Carin Burchell Trade Mark Services (CBTMS).
Carin set up her own practice ten years ago after many years working in the UK and Hong Kong and felt it was time to update the firm's image.
She wanted something modern and upbeat that continued to say exactly what the practice was about.
"The logo is very bold and exciting and explains exactly what we do.
"It speaks for itself," she said.
The team at CBTMS came up with the catchy new name, registered it as a trade mark throughout the EU and developed a visual concept.
They then commissioned York-based graphic design firm Colourbox to come up with an eye-catching logo.
The result looks like an imprint from a branding iron or rubber stamp and initially will be stuck over the old name to reinforce its meaning, and the fact that it is only a change of image. The business remains unchanged.
"We wanted something short, distinctive and memorable, which would still suggest the nature of our services," said Carin.
"A company's brand or trade mark is vitally important as it identifies where a product or service originates.
"Protecting it by trade mark registration gives the owner the exclusive right to use it"
