WITH a name like Acute Marketing, Nick Eggleton expects his York business to take sudden tangents, but in his case they are always on an upward path.

Nick had to issue a quick update on his entry for the Evening Press Business Awards, both in the Growth Business of the Year and Business Personality of the Year categories.

The reason? He started with two clients at the time of entry, but then by September 10 deadline he had seven. It seems that as fast as he wrote down his list of top clients, more had to be added!

They include Ecoplas, the PVCu recycling firm near Selby, NMTV production company of York, Harvey Mercer, the Knaresborough food importer, spirit importers Lock Stock Trading and the Impressions Gallery in Coppergate, York.

Nick, 37, who studied at Archbishop Holgate's School in York, went on the gain a degree in communications and cultural studies and public media at Leeds University, and later earned a CAM diploma in consumer, industrial and international advertising and marketing.

After working for some of the biggest agencies in London, he became a business director, and finally did his homework on the prospects of a York-based consultancy of his own.
