IN only seven years Clive Owen & Company has become one of the top firms of chartered accountants and business advisers in the York area - and it believes in training with a passion

Good enough reason for the firm, which in March had to move from Clifton Moor into larger premises on the Northminster Business Park, York, to enter the Growth Business Of The Year and the Progress Through People categories.

It began with Terry Doyle, formerly with KPMG as the lone steering partner who used detailed research into demand to generate a broad base of clients from whom fee income has grown 17-fold and with 15 names on the payroll - and counting.

It is no accident that they are quality staff, because huge investment has gone into training. All staff are encouraged - and backed financially - to attend professional courses and sit professional exams. Clive Owen & Co is also one of the few firms to train chartered accountants locally.
