Rosie Redman, a faller at Doncaster on her latest outing, is napped to gain rich compensation in the North Yorkshire Grand National at Catterick tomorrow.

The skybet.com-sponsored race has £20,000 prize money, the richest race ever staged at Catterick, and it will be televised live on Channel 4.

Trained at Helperby near Easingwold by Jim Turner, the home-bred eight-year-old was a prolific winner last season and scored at Doncaster two outings ago but came to grief on a return visit to Town Moor.

Tomorrow's trip of three and threequarter miles is just right for this dour stayer, who will be ridden by Malton-based David O'Meara.

The Ian Hutchinson Memorial Challenge Cup Chase is the target for Kids Inheritance, a recent winner over course and distance.

Trainer Malcolm Jefferson, who describes the gelding as the "best-looking horse I've got," had been largely disappointed with Kids Inheritance until his latest success, which was at the main expense of hot favourite Real Shady. Jim Crowley again has the mount.

Mick Easterby has good prospects in the Richmond Beginners' Chase with Dix Bay, the mount of Tom Greenall. This winning hurdler has been running well over fences.

Narciso can make a strong bid for Easterby and Greenall in the Hipswell Novices' Hurdle. An improving gelding, the five-year-old showed plenty of grit and determination to score at Wetherby on his latest outing.

Culcabock, who ran well in defeat at Kelso last week, need only reproduce that effort to win the £10,000 Sky Bet Channel 4 Handicap Hurdle. Wilson Renwick has the mount on Peter Monteith's gelding.

At Haydock, whose meeting is set to go ahead after the course passed an inspection today, the big race is the £75,000 Peter Marsh Chase.

Make a note of Truckers Tavern, recent winner of the Rowland Meyrick Chase at Wetherby, who will relish the heavy ground.
