The future vision of York will be unveiled to a watching audience at a special City Conference at the Barbican Centre on Wednesday, September 24.

The Without Walls Partnership will reveal the brief of the future shape of York for the next two decades following a day of activities.

The Vision presentation will be the climax of months of hard work, planning and consultation to find out how York people see the future.

City Conference 3 will kick off with a bang when local community groups march from the Mansion House to the venue, led by the York Youth Parliament.

Visitors to the Barbican Centre will be met with dozens of colourful displays from many of the organisations who have been working and supporting Without Walls behind the scenes, including Science City, the University of York and the York Central Project Team.

This exhibition will also be the venue for the presentation of prizes for the massive art competition, which saw hundreds of schoolchildren reveal how they saw the city looking in the future.

The results from all of the many events held during the Festival of Ideas will also be displayed for visitors to view on the day.

It all leads towards an open presentation for the Vision for York, which will be given by the Without Walls Executive Board.
