YORK City's leading scorer Andy Bishop has again made the official Nationwide Conference player of the month shortlist.

The young forward missed out on the January award to the cup heroics of Exeter goalkeeper Paul Jones but has been given a second chance to win after landing a consecutive nomination.

Fans can cast their votes by logging onto www.footballconference.co.uk as soon as possible.

Dave Merris has escaped a one-match ban by one day. The Minstermen's left-sided midfielder was shown his fifth yellow card of the season and his third in three matches against Barnet on Tuesday night but the cut-off point for suspensions was a day earlier.

Any player who receives a fifth caution after February 28 will not now be sidelined for a game although anybody who has his name taken for a tenth time between now and the end of the season will incur a two-match ban.

City's reserves lost 2-0 at Doncaster yesterday with former Burnley midfielder Paul Weller and Leeds United youngster Chris Jones playing as trialists.

Club captain Steve Davis also continued his comeback after a hip operation.
