THIS is Jane's labour of love. McDonald's third album salutes "the Great Ladies of Song", much the same as its predecessors.
But whereas Jane's debut album, Inspiration, was a mere colour-by-numbers effort, this time the care in selection of material, the arrangements and McDonald's performance is impressive.
She pays tribute to the obvious contenders, but now with a more imaginative choice of song: Dusty's Give Me Time, Petula's This Is My Song and Vikki Carr's It Must Be Him, giving each a new twist. Four bonus songs written by our favourite Wakefield Cruiser complement the collection, but a rather camp cover of Kiss Me, Honey, Honey, Kiss Me will please her fan base most.
