YORK City will be bidding to rack up three successive victories tomorrow for the first time in 19 months.

The last time the Minstermen managed a hat-trick of consecutive wins was in August 2003 during Chris Brass' first month as player-manager.

Billy McEwan is now hoping to emulate that feat having been in the KitKat Crescent hot-seat for three weeks.

The former Sheffield United and Rotherham boss has already registered the club's first back-to-back victories since January 2004 having won at Exeter and defeated table-topping Barnet, but one of his chief concerns about his side's ability to complete a welcome treble is the players' fitness levels.

The City boss said: "Time will tell how fit we are as a team but Exeter also played during the week.

"The work we put in on Tuesday night was excellent and we have been monitoring them closely in training to make sure they get their energy levels back because we need the same standard of performance."

Dave Merris and Darren Dunning are the only players likely to be in tomorrow's side who started in all three matches the last time City completed a hat-trick of successive wins against Northampton, Huddersfield and Southend.

Brass, currently injured, also played in one of the games while Bryan Stewart, also sidelined at the moment, came on as substitute in all three and Chris Porter and Sean Davies were on the bench.
