HOME advantage proved to be decisive in the Leeper Hare York and District Football League Senior Cup as all four ties finished in favour of the hosts.

Old Malton beat Dunnington 3-2 in the delayed second round clash - their third win over Dunnington this season.

Andy Rose gave the visitors the lead but Phil Hill and Nicky Drew's 25-yard strike put Old Malton in front.

Chris Burgess equalised in the 88th minute to send the game into extra-time but Heath Brown's goal earned Old Malton a third round trip to Norwich Union.

Copmanthorpe went through to an away tie at Wigginton Grasshoppers after they beat Bishopthorpe 3-1 after coming from behind with three second half goals from Ian Charlton, Tom Heseltine and Mark Bellah.

Dringhouses eased into round four with a comprehensive 5-1 win over T & L Selby. The hosts were two up early on through Mark Woodward, and James Bonarious.

John Lake headed in a Shaun Laverack cross to extend the lead and a Lee Bond header made it 4-0. Mark Woodward added a fifth before Selby snatched a consolation.

Easingwold needed extra time to beat York St John's College.

After a goal-less 90 minutes Andrew Metcalfe (Jnr) broke the deadlock only for Andrew Sherlock to equalise for the students. However, Metcalfe's strike in the second period ensured Easingwold victory.

Poppleton, last season's beaten Junior Cup finalist, progressed to round three after seeing off the challenge of division three promotion contenders Hemingbrough.

They won 2-0 with goals from Craig Suttle (penalty) and Carl Shepherd. Poppleton travel to White Horse Church Fenton in the next round.

Elvington's season of cup successes continued with a 3-2 extra-time win at Rawcliffe.

Darren Brandon put Rawcliffe in front, a lead they held until just after half-time when Andy Gent netted for Elvington. Luke Dove then gave the visitors the lead but a Darren Mallinson strike sent the game into extra-time where Dove popped up with a winner for Elvington who will now entertain Heslington.

Twice Stuart Winter had given Riccall the lead at Huby but the first was cancelled out by Dave Adams and the second by Richard Jennison before a bizarre own goal two minutes from time gave Huby a 3-2 win and a home tie with Ouseburn.

Division Three side Tadcaster Albion led Fulford 2-0 at the interval Dave Aldridge (penalty) and Steve Cooper levelled. Albion, unbeaten in 12 games regained the lead only for Fulford to equalise through Aldridge but in the final minute a controversial goal secured Tadcaster a 4-3 win.

York RI will meet Albion next after beating Sheriff Hutton 3-1. Darren Sellars put RI in front, Billy Allen equalised but RI restored their advantage with a 30-yard screamer from Rob Sanderson and Lee Dutton made the game safe ten minutes from the end.

Their was a major upset in the third round of the Reserve Cup when Reserve 'C' side Poppleton won 3-2 at Pocklington.

Steve Abbott put Poppleton in front, Rob Bradley equalised but Andy Chambers restored Pop's lead five minutes before the break.

A Wayne Johnstone header on 73 minutes made it 2-2 and though Pock hit a post and had a goal disallowed, the tie went into extra-time where Abbott netted the decisive goal. Poppleton go to Stamford Bridge in the next round.

Extra time was also required at Huntington before two Tom Moorcroft goals secured Old Malton a 2-0 win and a trip to Dunnington.

Simon Archer opened the scoring for New Earswick but Copmanthorpe hit back to win 3-1 with goals from Lee Atkinson and Paul Scurry (2).

Steve Fratson scored a hat-trick for Reserve 'B' leaders Nestl Rowntree who beat Malton Bacon Factory 4-2.

His first two goals were cancelled out by Jamie Ward and Paul Stead but Luke Brownbridge and Fratson ensured Rowntree's victory.
