Dringhouses took a massive stride to retaining the Leeper Hare York and District Football League premier division crown on Saturday.

As they beat Kartiers 3-0, the four sides immediately below the leaders all dropped vital home points.

With leading scorer Mark Woodward injured, Lee Bond took centre stage with a brace of goals either side of a James Bonarious strike. Dringhouses need only four points from their remaining four games to hold on to their title.

Second-placed Malton Bacon Factory went down 3-1 at home to struggling Copmanthorpe.

Two first half goals from Matty Bastock and a goal on 71 minutes from Mark Bellah set up Copmanthorpe's first away win of the season. Simon Collins replied.

Huntington's recent dip continued when they eked out a point from the visit of Dunnington. Steve Haddon gave the visitors the lead before Chris Dyson salvaged a share of the spoils.

Thorpe Utd's dismal home form was extended by Haxby, who won 2-0. Mark Scoreby opened the scoring in the first half and Scott Barley added the second to seal Haxby's first away win in five outings.

Pocklington drew 2-2 at Old Malton, where a well-rehearsed corner led to Barry Garget giving Pock the half-time lead. That was then doubled five minutes after the re-start when Mark Richardson set up a goal for Callum Horne.

But the Malton side replied with two goals in three minutes. Heath Brown, with his tenth of the season, hit the first, Nicky Drew netting the equaliser.

T & L Selby reversed the exact score-line from the earlier meeting of the sides when they beat Bishopthorpe 2-1 at home. Adam Durnin was the Selby side's ace with a brace of goals.
