HAVING waited for four long years Hounds finally overcame their bogey side Marcia at Bishopthorpe in emphatic style to take their place in the Challenge Cup final.

Hounds' defence held firm in the early stages and Collier broke the deadlock in the first half. The second half belonged to the visitors as Collier bagged his second and further goals from Forrest, D Rhodes and an own goal secured a 5-0 victory for the league leaders to stay on course for a trophy double.

Thorpe United made it an all-Selby final on May 8, but only via a penalty shoot-out after their game at Nestl Flag ended goalless.

In a game of few chances for either side, Dyson and Garner were guilty of missing Flag's best and Dyson also missed the first penalty which made the difference as the rest were converted to give a 5-4 final scoreline.

In John Smith's Sunday Morning Football League division one, Derwent United edged closer to the leaders with a 2-0 win at Selby Olympia WMC.

Wigginton Grasshoppers pulled off the result of the day with a 4-1 home win over Ainsty Panthers courtesy of goals from Johnson (2), Gillam and Ben Coates. It could have been more but for Ainsty 'keeper Drake, who pulled off a host of saves.

Moss (2), Collins and Jones were the scorers as Severus SC recorded a 4-3 win at home to Pocklington, whose replies came from Anderson (2) and Stabler.

Danny Gray hit a hat-trick as Acomb WMC beat Haxby Lions 4-0 in division two. Will Moore netted the other.

Deramore Arms have had their share of high-scoring games this season and Sunday's against Edward VII was no different as they went down by the odd goal in 11.

James Luck (2), Jackson, Horner and Triffitt were on the mark for Deramore with an Eddie Phillips treble and one apiece for Franklin and Franks making it 5-5 before Al Whitehead struck with a last-minute winner for Edwards.
