I WITNESSED a flock of pink creatures with curly tales flying over my house, strangely enough whilst reading the Evening Press report on the new neighbourhood policing (March 31).

There will be 53 teams of neighbourhood police in North Yorkshire: surely that means the returning of the Acomb, Clifton and Strensall police stations to regular use, so as to house all these new teams, and this will make, as Mrs Kenyon states, "the police more open and accountable to the public".

I bet it won't!

I would even go as far as to say that we, the paymasters of our police force, will see little or no change. We certainly will not see officers walking the beat in Chapelfields. What a shame I will not be here long enough to check whether it actually happens, as we are moving shortly - although still in the North Yorkshire police area unfortunately.
