YORK'S Conservative candidate has outlined his party's policy to defuse Britain's "pensions time bomb".

Clive Booth said three key issues were dominating his doorstep campaign: war in Iraq, yob culture and pensions.

He said Conservatives would provide a bigger state pension, raising it in line with earnings and not just inflation, cut council tax bills for pensioner households and provide more help for people needing long-term care.
