I WRITE in response to the report about police officers receiving bonuses for handling dead bodies, which includes our son Daniel ('Cash for corpses', May 23).
It amazes us that the murderer has all mod-cons in his prison cell, police officers get a bonus, but what about the victims?
No one can prepare you for that knock on the door and the devastation of losing your only son.
We are not entitled to compensation from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority; not even enough to pay for a decent funeral or headstone.
Then, to cap it all, there is a new sandwich shop opened beneath the place where our son was murdered.
It is aptly called Bliss.
