CAKE makers at Imaginative Icing, in Lendal, York, dreamed up a set of Royal Ascot themed cakes to get passers by in the racing mood.
As well as this racing track cake, shown off here by Gill Guilliatt, designed especially for a 60th birthday, customers can order a cake featuring a horse riding in the back of a Rolls Royce with a huge grin on his face.
Another cake recreates a bottle of champagne, complete with flutes and money signs, while another cake on a stand features a top hat, ladies' hat and a bottle of champagne.
A fourth design features bears drinking champagne in a bath at the end of a perfect day's racing.
Shop manager Sylvia Ross said racing cakes were popular all year round. "The Ascot cakes look really good. We're really pleased with them," she said. "They've attracted a lot of comments since they've been here.
"So far nobody's asked us to make a cake especially for Ascot, but if they come in and request one we can make it for them."
