REGARDING the article by Chris Greenwood on security for the Queen at Royal Ascot involving electric stun guns (June 11), it looks as if those who wish to see their sovereign at close quarters could be in for a shock - a big one, 50,000 volts at that.
I have heard everything now. Is the Queen disliked by many? Or is it a chance to try out these weapons in public and see the affects on a citizen who waited all day to see their head of State?
What a sad reflection on this country's declining standards of respect, and how we now deal with society at large.
I am glad those that have passed on cannot see these new methods of law and order and how we look on every citizen as a threat, young and old.
