AN award-winning York firm which manufactures pioneering digital clocking on devices has won a groundbreaking contract with a major industrial player in Papua New Guinea.

The deal with Trukai Industries was handled by the Australian division of Mitrefinch whose headquarters are on the Green Lane trading estate at Clifton Moor.

Now Mitrefinch is fitting its award-winning Time & Attendance.NET system at Trukai Industries' head office in Lae, Papua New Guinea's second largest city. Trukai supplies more than 95 per cent of Papua New Guinea's rice market.

The deal, worth about £30,000 is seen as a firm foot in the door in the Solomon Islands.

Mitrefinch, which was victorious in the Best Use of New Technology category in last year's Evening Press Business Awards, was established 25 years ago.

Over the past ten years it has expanded rapidly into Europe and, more recently, into Australia.
