Railway Institute netball club celebrated their move to their new home with an official opening.
The long-running club used to play at and be known as Civil Service until having to leave two seasons ago. They made the switch to RI last term and started playing on the new purpose-built courts at New Lane during their championship-winning season but never had the opportunity to officially christen their new headquarters.
But they got their chance at the Patrick Brisbane Memorial Trophy tournament, and BBC presenter Harry Gration dropped by to cut the ribbon.
The 11-team tournament ended with RI first team captain and chairman Briz Mennell presenting the trophy, which commemorates her late brother, to Haxby skipper Emma Cawood after they beat Osbaldwick 14-6 in the final.
RI and visiting team Lostock from Manchester also made it through to the semi-finals.
A Haxby select side made it two wins for the weekend after claiming a friendly tournament.
Members of the squad combined with a couple of RI players in a five-team contest including two teams from Lostock, a second Haxby side and a league seven dubbed the Mixtures.
