Forecasters predicted that the sun may begin to shine on Royal Ascot later today.
Most of the cold drizzle should clear away as temperatures rise to a high of 20 degrees (68F), but there will still be some cloud and light winds, according to PA WeatherCentre.
Tomorrow will see finer and warmer weather, while Saturday is expected to see the best weather of the week.
