FROM time to time you publish letters from patients putting their criticisms and some praising the local health authorities.

On Monday, June 20, at the York Novotel, Fishergate, York, the Independent Patients' Forums will hold an open public meeting from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

The two subject matters are health checks - are we getting enough? And cancer services - do we have a choice?

If you have any concerns, worries or fears on these subjects come along and put your questions or comments to the senior NHS management for this area.

Maybe you have experience of one or the other of these two health services and you feel you could offer ideas or advice to improve them.

Come and express your point of view. If you would rather not speak in public, still come along and we can arrange for someone to speak on your behalf.

This is a golden opportunity for the people of York, Selby, Easingwold and Tadcaster to put their point of view to the senior people in the NHS in this area.

Novotel has a free car park and offers excellent facilities for people with particular needs, including a loop system for hearing aid users.
