LAST month my wife and I drove to Scotland to see three of our children and their families. The entire journey was on A-class roads (A1, A68, A720, A92).
Using Alistair Darling's road pricing policy for this four-day visit, I reckon the mileage cost alone would have been more than £800 plus petrol.
As pensioners, if this is what a visit to our children and grandchildren is going to cost under his patronage I can't imagine us seeing much of our family after the introduction of this money-grabbing scheme.
Travelling by bus, train or aeroplane would not be feasible for this visit.
