Hunters the estate agent York and District Senior League premier division leaders Clifton Alliance enjoyed a century opening stand when they crossed the Ouse to visit Acomb.

Aussie Danny Harris took over as premier division leading run scorer when he made 73 as he and Dave Taylor (62) put on 136.

Skipper Rich Musgrave added 29, but his Acomb counterpart Andy Tute took 3-46 as Clifton made 211-6.

The home side's overseas player Sanjay Rodrigo then made 63 and Matt Dickinson supported with 30, but the hosts were only able to reach 173-8 as John Hunter's spinners claimed 3-63.

Easingwold's batting line-up, which played a major role in their championship-winning campaign last season, at last came good as they made 312-5 against Woodhouse Grange.

There was little indication of the batting spree to follow as Martin Piercy (46) and Jonathon Marwood (29) laid a solid foundation.

The tempo increased when Andy Dawson (44) and Paul Skilbeck added 134 for the fourth wicket.

Dan Copeland then cracked an unbeaten 51 off only 23 balls, clearing the boundary on five occasions.

Skilbeck, whose previous highest score this season was 16, was eventually dismissed for an impressive 111.

Woodhouse's batsmen then prospered on a fine batting track, Nick Hadfield putting another century under his belt in making 102.

Skilbeck made some inroads with 3-53, but 18-year-old Andrew Anderson (26no) and 16-year-old Andrew Bilton (25no) had little difficulty in taking their side to a safe draw at 203-5.

Dunnington's Hamid Khan's form blossomed at Heworth, where his top score of 64 and best bowling figures of 4-17 helped inflict a 105-run defeat on the host club. This victory takes Dunnington to within 21 points of leaders Clifton Alliance.

Harwood Williams chipped in with 59 while Simon Kellett made 38 in a total of 223-6.

Heworth's successful bowler was Kashif Mahmood, who took 5-59. He reccently returned to the Elm Park Way outfit after having started the season at Osbaldwick.

Home skipper Dave Simpson responded with 41 and Richard Bowling made 25, but with Collis King (4-28) supporting Khan's efforts with the ball, Heworth were dismissed for 118.

Osbaldwick included new signing Majid Majeed in their line-up at Sheriff Hutton Bridge, but the ex-High Wycombe player made little impact as the Bridge eased their relegation fears with a seven-wicket win which leaves their opponents rooted in bottom place.

Mike Smith (3-71) helped reduce Osbaldwick to 45-5 before Robin Bispham (23) and Steve Young (27) started to make amends.

After their departure, Andy Milnes (40no) and Dave West (53) provided some enterprising batting. They came within one run of beating the premier division record for the eighth wicket before being parted.

Paul Oldfield (3-39) held a good return catch to dismiss West in the final over as Osbaldwick closed on 186-9.

The Bridge were given a good start by Oldfield and Ian Clish, who posted a stand of 60, until Majeed gained his first York League wicket when he bowled Clish for 33.

Paul Scaling (29) then helped Oldfield add 53 for the second wicket. The opener was trapped lbw after he had made 63. Skipper Steve Crowder then struck a rapid 37 not out to see his side to a seven wicket win in the 48th over.
