York-based jockey Robert Winston travels to Newmarket tomorrow with excellent prospects on completing a double.

He teams up with Nap selection Original Source in the TNT July Stakes and Howard Johnson's speedy colt deserves respect, despite taking a steep rise in class.

From the same stable which sent out Masta Plasta to win at the Royal Ascot meeting, Original Source made a winning debut in maiden company at Hamilton last month, scoring by one-and-a-quarter lengths and looking a high-class juvenile in the making.

The form of that race has taken one or two knocks since, but the initial impression remains that Original Source is capable of holding his own in smart company.

Tomorrow is his acid-test when he crosses swords with some high-class youngsters, not least Red Clubs, a triple winner, whose latest success came in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Winston can also land the Classic FM Handicap over five furlongs on Sierra Vista.

Trained at Scorton in North Yorkshire by David Barker, Sierra Vista bounced back to form with Winston in the saddle at Newcastle eleven days ago. It would be no surprise to see this speedy performer double up tomorrow.

Sharadi should not be overlooked in the Gist Handicap over two miles.

Vince Smith's gelding is a proven stayer as he confirmed when winning at Pontefract last time.

The Cesarewitch Handicap in the autumn is Sharadi's main objective, but this £15,000 race would come in handy for connections in the meantime.

At Catterick, Toni Alcala can resume his winning ways by capturing the £10,000 'Turmeric' Handicap.

The six-year-old has been running well recently, making the frame in his last three races, most recently when finishing third at Newcastle behind Argentum.

Rosapenna looks capable of defying top weight in the Luncheon Suite Handicap, while Richard Fahey, who saddled two winners at Ripon last night, has good prospects of adding to his growing tally with Sharoura in the Middleham Suite Handicap.
