AN office equipment and supplies company based in York is celebrating its 40th birthday this month.
Wallis Business Services was started in Gillygate by Peter and Pauline Wallis as a typing and duplicating service on July 15, 1965.
Now the company, run by their son, also Peter, covers a huge range of office supply, including computers, furniture, copiers, servicing and training from a head office and warehouse at Clifton Moor, with a shop still in Gillygate and one also in Yorkersgate Malton. It turns over £5 million a year.
Celebrations will be marked by ten days of giveaway promotions and a gala dinner for staff and partners at the Monk Bar Hotel, York, on July 15.
