I AM writing to congratulate and thank everybody for making our show Don't Stop Us Now such a fantastic success. And for making a dream come true for our present publicity officer and lifelong member Terry Larkman.

St Aelreds Players have been in existence for 29 years and it was Terry's original idea to showcase all our talents on the Joseph Rowntree stage for the first time this year.

In particular I would like to thank our near full house on Thursday and our full houses on Friday and Saturday for the terrific support and to say sorry to those that we had to turn away - maybe next time.

Our next big show will see a return to our home of St Aelred's Primary School, Fifth Avenue, York, presenting our annual pantomime, this time Aladdin next January.

Please buy your tickets early to avoid disappointment, watch this space for details.

To the volunteer staff of the Joseph Rowntree Theatre I also have to say a great big thank you for your friendly but very professional approach. The advice and encouragement from both sides of the house was invaluable to a group appearing in a custom-built theatre for the first time.

We had members performing on stage from seven decades, from ten-year-olds to people in their 70s. This gave a vast variety of material for our directors/producers to choose from.

Finally I must say an enormous thank you to our directors/ producers Jess Hardcastle and Hayley Evans for making it happen.
