Sessay ended Dunnington's long domination of the Hunters the estate agent York and District Senior Cricket League Premier Cup.

They won by four wickets with three balls remaining when chasing a target of 244-4.

Dunnington had been unbeaten in the competition since 1997. Winning 29 consecutive games they triumphed in the Costcutter Premier Cup in 1998, 1999 and 2000 and then the renamed Hunters Premier Cup in each of its four years from 2001 to 2004.

The second round game at Dunnington seemed to be heading on a familiar course as Hamed Khan and Collis King added 90 for the second wicket following the dismissal of Masood Butt for 27.

King had reached 53 when he fell to Richard Till at 129 and a further wicket fell shortly afterwards.

Khan and Dave Greenlay then progressed to 193 before the former was caught off Stuart Pierse for 72. Greenlay (47no) and Paul Miles (24no) then lifted the total to 244-4.

Sessay's reply suffered an immediate setback when Nick Harrison was dismissed by Mike Noble for two.

Matt Till and Chris Till added 92 and then King had Matt Till caught by Paul Miles for 45.

Chris Till had progressed to 78 when the wicketkeeper held a second catch with the score at 185-4. His dismissal left Sessay facing a challenging run rate.

Skipper Richard Till then produced a fine innings as he and Pierse set about their task with real purpose.

Hamed Khan dismissed Pierse for 27 at 233 and trapped Nick Thorne lbw for no score but Richard Till held his nerve and struck nine runs off the first three deliveries of the final over to move to 55 not out and earn his side a semi-final place.
