I ADVISE all residents of Heslington to be aware that there could be a "Bermuda Triangle"-like phenomenon in the village.

Yesterday (May 24), my partner and I arrived at the Heslington Road bus stop to catch an ftr to the railway station at exactly 3.56pm.

About a minute later, the first of four ftrs going in the opposite direction passed on the other side of the road. The third of these buses was the hideously garish one, painted with "modern art" designs.

We waited and waited until finally, at 4.34pm, the "arty" ftr trundled up, completely full and with people standing, and we boarded.

There was a First York employee next to the ticket machine, who seemed to have been programmed in a similar manner, as for the remainder of the journey I, and every other angry passenger who had waited more 35 minutes for an ftr and asked why there had been such a long delay, got the reply "I don't know, sir/madam, we are on time".

I want to know why there was a 38-minute wait for an ftr, and what happened to the two that passed previously?

I was under the impression the service ran every ten minutes.

Is there a supernatural explanation to the truly appalling service that is ftr?

Or is the truth what I and most other passengers suspected plain and simple incompetence?
